Set up your map filters

Ginkgo includes several ways to filter your data and share specific maps with your colleagues, community members or with a general public audience.

Use the map Filters feature to set up a map that displays a specific view of your records.

1. Open the Map

Once logged in, go the map: https://app.ginkgo.city/map

These features are accessible on both desktop and mobile size browsers

2. Select the Filters feature in the blue toolbar

On the left side, use the blue toolbar to locate and open the map Filters features.

You can also click on the Filter Map shortcut from the list of locations or "Locations Details" tab whit this is expanded, which it is in the example below.

Click on the map Filters tool in the toolbar.

3. Select the resource(s) you'd like to set filters for

Citiesense includes several different resources that help you manage data about a neighborhood ranging from real estate resources like Properties and Development Activity to public space resources like Streetscape Assets.

In this example, we're going to work with the "Businesses & Attractions" or Tenants resource.

4. Interact with the filters available for a resource.

You can choose from any of the filter options shows for a particular resource. Most of the resources include a Category and Subcategories filter, as well as a Tags filter.

Let's say we want to look up businesses that include the word "Coffee" as a subcategory. Try it out by selecting from the Subcategories filter menu and beginning to type the word "Coffee" to shorten the results.

Let's say you'd like to look up businesses that include the word "Coffee" as a subcategory.

The results should load as soon as a filter setting is selected.

Results are shown on the map based on the word "Coffee" as one of the subcategories of a Tenant record.

That's it. You've set up your first map filter!
