Ginkgo makes it quick and easy to look up available data from public sources, ranging from federal and nation-wide datasets like the US Census to data from local government sources.
Use the Public Data Library features to look up available data for a specific location on the map.
1. Open the Map
Once logged in, go to your map: https://app.ginkgo.city/map
These features are accessible on both desktop and mobile size browsers
2. Select the Public Data Library feature in the blue toolbar
On the left side, use the blue toolbar to locate and open the Public Data Library features.
Browse the available datasets, or use the keyword search to type in the name of a dataset you're looking for.
The keyword "Housing" is used here to lookup a dataset called "Housing Units".
3. Select the dataset
Once you select the dataset you're interested in, you can click on different locations on the map to update the data about that location from the dataset you've selected.
If the map layer toggle is orange, you can use this feature to toggle on and off a layer associated with this dataset.
Map Layers are available for most public datasets. Toggle them on to visualize the data on the map.
4. Change the location the pin to look up data from this dataset.
Change the location of your pin in order to look up data for different locations from this dataset.
