Map layers

Most public data in Ginkgo corresponds with a Map Layer in order to visualize it.

When you center the map on an area of interest, such as your city or neighborhood, Ginkgo will look up all available map layers and update the list in the Map Layers section of the toolbar.

When we started Ginkgo, we worked closely with Business Improvement Districts across all five boroughs of New York City. This is why we have so many public datasets and map layers available for this part of the US. We’re expanding the available Map Layers to cover cities across the country, while we prioritize the communities we’re working with.
